In databases, you can often view articles as full text in HTML or as a PDF. If you view it in PDF, you can email, print, or save this file. If you’re doing research on your own computer or device, one way to organize articles is to make a folder on your desktop or in Files and save everything there. You can rename the files as whatever you want, but using author last name and year is sometimes helpful since that is information needed for in-text citations later.

In some databases (including LumenPlus), you can set up folders to hold the articles you want to look at again later. If you do this, make sure you have a separate account set up in the database so that it will save. Otherwise, you need to export everything from your folder before you close the window. Don’t make that mistake! If you sign up for an account with myEBSCOhost, you also have the ability to save your searches. This will help you not search the same unfruitful search again and again. Here’s a video tutorial on how to set up myEBSCOhost.

You can also keep track of your searches by using the Share option within EBSCOhost or LumenPlus. After performing a search where you like the results, click on the Share button on the right hand side of the screen. Once there, you can copy the Persistent Link to Search. Save this link somewhere and you can come back to the search later! These permalinks are also available on individual article records, under the Tools menu on the right hand side of the screen. If you're trying to save a link back to a search or record, make sure to copy the permalink and NOT the URL in the address bar of your browser. The permalinks have important information embedded in them that will tell the database that you're a Regis student, and this will allow you to get back to the search or article.
